The following podcast is created with GarageBand. GarageBand allows you to record and edit your voice by cutting out specific section, changing the volume, and sound. You can also add music and sound effects. The jingle I used to introduce my podcast is right off of garageband. Overall the program is pretty easy to maneuver. The only thing that I don't like is was hard for me to remember is that as you extend something (a recorded voice section) it erases what is next to it. This can become frustrating when you play your final project and a chunk of the voice is missing. Also, one thing to remember is that the photos/powerpoint pictures need to be smaller than 300x300 or parts of them will be cut off. When exporting too, I had to check off the section where its asks if I want to set artwork to recommended size for podcasts 300x300 when exporting; this helped to keep all of my powerpoint pictures staying within the frame and made the file size smaller.
The Podcast I created is about the importance of recess during the school day. All across the United States, recess has been reduced to a minimal amount of time or none at all. This may be because of the amount of information teachers have to cover to prepare their students to meet state needs. The problem with this is that recess helps to keep students focused on tasks and behavior levels down. It also helps students develop social skills that are crucial for future relationships along with aiding in the fight against childhood obesity.
